Lagos pastor who had several witnesses testify against him, charged for raped of one of his church members,
……claimed he’s in strong relationship with the minor
The General Overseer and Founder of Peculiar Generation Assembly Church Lagos, Pastor Chris McDouglas who is facing a nine-count charge for defilement and sexual assault has claimed he’s in a strong relationship with the minor he defiled.
Mcdouglas, 54, married with children who had several witnesses testify against him was charged for raped of one of his church members, 17years old girl at Lagos state Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court sitting in Ikeja.
He is facing a nine-count charge of defilement and sexual assault by penetration, preferred against him by the Lagos State Government.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charges when he was arraigned.
There was a mild drama during the court sitting over the week when he claimed that the victim was his media coordinator and also a choir member of his church and that both are in a strong relationship.
“We started the relationship in January 12, 2018, immediately after her birthday before we had sexual intercourse in 2019 at a hotel, around Ikeja.
The case has been adjourned to May 24, 2024
Reacting to the case, Comrade Ebenezer Omejalile, the coordinator of Advocates For Children and Vulnerable Persons Network (ACVPN) said the case has suffered severely, no thanks to the various Adjournment.
According to him, flimsy excuses from the suspect counsel in other to exonerate him on this case will not see the light of the day as justice cannot be denied.
“The suspect counsel kept presenting documents that are forged by their friends claiming that the perpetrator is suffering serious ill health that needed intensive care.
“Initially they claimed he had covid 19 and tuberculosis which we verified to be a pack of lies, this time around such antics will not work; the law must take its full course.
“No matter all forms of gimmicks applied, they are dead on arrival.
