Nigerians should see police force as their own – Lagos CP
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Mr Adegoke Fayoade has charged Nigerians to see police force as their own and also change their negative mind set against the force.
Fayode made the call during his interaction with Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) at the state command Ikeja
According to him, ‘we are humans, as an organization we cannot be perfect, we need supports and not criticism,we will correct the negative impression people have about police and be people friendly.
‘I will ensure crimes are reduced to the barest minimum in the state, good people of Lagos will be free from major crimes”, he added.
The Police boss noted that seven high ranking members of cultists had been arrested in Ikorodu area of the state in the last five days.

He said that three were arrested on Tuesday, while four were arrested on Thursday at different parts of Ikorodu.
The commissioner said that cultism, traffic robbery and kidnapping are some of the major crimes he iss going to tackle.
The CP who solicited the support of CRAN members stressed that the media were part of his eyes and ears in getting feedback and other information.
He said he is also partnering the judiciary with a view to ensure that arrested criminals are kept away for a long time.
“I will be transparent in my operations, no officer will be covered up for any wrong doing”, he stressed.
Fayoade assured that his officers and men will carry out their duties professionally and requested the members of the public to give him information on any unprofessional conduct.
He called on all Divisional Police Officers to ensure they make their stations conducive for all to make report/complaint when necessary.
On commercial motorcyclists, he said there will be strict enforcement than before, stressing that some of them were part of the security challenges in the State.
He warned his men and officers against land issues, say it is a civil matter, noting, however, that those that want to cause trouble through land matter will be dealt with.
The President of CRAN, Mr Olalekan Olabulor, assured the CP of the association’s support, as long as information will always be available for members to work with.
