2023 Elections: Christian Leaders Storm Lagos For DPG Political Stakeholders’ Conference.
+ Grassroots Coordinators’ Inauguration.
Christian leadership of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) are already in Lagos for the critical political stakeholders conference organized by the Directorate of Politics and Governance (DPG).
The political and good governance arm of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), led by Bishop Theophilus Ajose, has also concluded arrangements for the all important political stakeholders conference scheduled for Lagos on the 25th of June, 2022.
While inspecting on the level of preparedness of different committees working towards the success of the summit, Dr. Ajose, who is doubles as the South West DPG deputy Coordinator said, “This is the momentous and turning point conference for the political realignment and integration of the church”.
On harnessing the numerical strength of the church to make a difference at the forthcoming elections, the Lagos State DPG Director declared, “at this conference and inauguration of our local government and Ward coordinators, covering all the 57 local councils of Lagos State from over 60,000 Pentecostal church branches in Lagos State, the church is now well positioned and awakened to deploy our political strength which is our people and numbers to ensure that only the right people get to the seats of political power.”
He noted that the reawakening of the church on issues of good governance is for the overall betterment of the society.
He stated that ‘politics is about people and our votes will be counted and they will count!
On the question of structure, Bishop Ajose maintained that politicians undermining the Church for lack of political structure, may be embarking on political hallucinations of the past. He stated further that “we have over 265,000 coordinators and polling agents to man all the polling units in Lagos State”.
While commending INEC for extension of Continuous Voters Registration Exercise, he charged the electoral body to ensure that eligible citizens are registered for voting in 2023.
“Though our PVCs are ready and we’re increasing the database. Our over 8 million Pentecostal membership in Lagos shall make a huge difference”…he emphasized.
He further acknowledged that “The Lord God of Heaven is on our side and He’s our Strength and our Song”.
