ACAON Mourns the Alaafin of Oyo who passed to glory of the Lord

The news of the passing to glory of Oba Dr. Lamidi Adeyemi the Alaafin of Oyo Empire who was the longest reigning Oba was the rudest shock when the announcement was aired.
The BoT Chairman of Anti-corruption Awareness Organisation Nigeria(ACAON), SCPN Alhaji Kola Adeyemi,issued press statement over news of his death
Adeyemi said, who are we to question the authority of our Creator whenever the door of death is open to everybody. However the late Oba joined his ancestors at the age of 83years after ruling Oyo for 52years.
According to him,the late Oba was a gift whose life has been characterised with excellent achievements and his success was due to honesty, transparency and hard work for the benefit and growth of mankind.
“The late Oba was a Nationalist whose kind of life had been dedicated to bridge the distance between the privileged and less privileged citizen of our race in mutual trust.
Alaafin was the life Patron of Anti Corruption Awareness Organisation Nigeria (aka ACAON),he added.
The late Oba was reported to have given up the ghost at the late hours of Friday while at Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti in Ekiti State. His remains were brought to Oyo in the early hours of Saturday for necessary burial rites
He pointed that the late Oba was an  irreplaceable, caring and firmTop Yoruba Oba and father who will be remembered for his historical background of the nation building in general and Yoruba Obaship in particular.
“He was a humane, humble, forthright, sensitive, and supportive to the unhatched vision of our noble course of action.
His exit at a point like this will have serious impact and will affect our course of action and sense of direction. He will be a huge loss as an irreplaceable Icon to Yoruba race and nation in general,” he said.
The entire nation will miss his fatherly sense of direction in general, the Yoruba race in particular.
We also use the medium to condole our able Oyo State Governor Engr. Abiodun Oluwaseyi Makinde and the good people of Oyo State as well the Immediate Oba Adeyemi family for the passing on to glory of our Oba. We will all miss him.
