Foundation gifts widows cash, children school materials
A non governmental organisation, the First British Charity Home Foundation, supported over 50 widows and 21 school children in Lagos with cash and school materials to alleviate the current economic challenges.
The converner, Evans Uchedu explained the reasons behind his kind gesture was the passion he had is to assist the less privileged ones while speaking to newsmen at Police children school, Ikeja Lagos.
Uchedu said,I have come to understand so much about the security challenges across the nation for some time, some people believe they have been neglected and that have resulted to the security issues.
Recently, looking at the security problems it has cause many damages were families lost their dear ones especially the policemen and soldiers.
“I understood the plights of this children, orphans, wives of soldiers and policemen turned widows , whose husbands fell in active service I wonder how would such home cope with current economic challenges”.
According to him, if families is struggling on how to feed,not alone someone who lost the bread winner, who lost their lives in active service living they families helpless, looking at that perceptive they need to be in school who will care for them based on the economy situation in the country that is becoming worse on daily basis,I decided to support with cash gift and educational materials to relief the stress.
Uchedu said the initiative was inspired by the plight of current hardship. He stated that the foundation do carry charity work not just for widows,less privileged,and also regular prison visitation.
it will be wrong if this large number of children grow without education, simple because their parents who were military men lost their lives during the active service providing security to entire nation nobody care for the children even if is basic education.
“What we are doing today will help them to be focused and think positive without engaging themselves in any form of crime and criminalities because of that it will secure they future,he added.
Mrs Nwachukwu Ngozi Nkem,the Asst director of education,Head Teacher of police children school, appreciated the organizer on behalf of the parents and the learners.
According to her,as children they will not forget today,it can not easily wiped off their memory if even they become ministers or whatever in future.
“As the position of the school, what you shown to us is a good one aleast if almost of us are not educated with this, coming to pay the children fees you are telling us that we have a lot to do,if we use to be lazy type,you are bringing us back to track to know that somebody somewhere is thinking about the walfare of the children we need to encourage them to do more,she added
