The genesis of administration’s woe is the so called subsidy removal which we are still finding difficult to understand. The issues of crude given to foreign refineries in exchange for finished products and a fair knowledge of international oil marketing makes the subsidy story ridiculous to a large extent.
Somehow, it sometimes look like our leaders make appointments trying to satisfy a handful of persons as against the hundreds of millions whom duty called them to serve.
As per the Budget 2024 padding allegations and exposė by Senator Ningi, are we saying we can’t have a smoke without a fire? At least independent investigations have confirmed that about N53billion of taxpayers money would be going into projects that have no locations. A budget reviewed with increase of about N1.2Trillion was assented to within 48hours by Mr. President. Little wonder he said recently that regardless of the fuss about the padding, the supposed hallowed chamber did well in passing the budget. We are perturbed at how shamelessly these folks run our affairs like there is a competition somewhere on highest holder of illicit and unexplainable wealth.
Sir, here’s a reminder that on resumption as the Commander in chief, you asked for six months to turn the economy around and later you promised that by your first Anniversary Nigerians would be smiling. Are we near the Eldorado yet?
On Okuama, CCGI made its appeals on two legs: “one is the fact that you can’t send an invitation letter to evil and be afraid at the sight of demons. The youths’ action was an invitation to evil; or do they expect it would be swept under the carpet by a mere sorry? The other leg is to identify with the military at this time who from emotional sentiments would do beyond collateral damages and not stop. We know this is an affront of the highest order. Even if you kill at ratio 100:1 of your men it doesn’t bring back your men felled gallantly at Okuama.
